Gigi Gryce

Gigi Gryce was an American jazz alto saxophonist, composer and arranger from Pensacola, Florida who came to prominence on the 1950s jazz scene. His work blended bebop and hard bop idioms with tightly written arrangements and original compositions, and he later adopted a new name and shifted toward education and non-performing roles, reducing his public musical output.
