Keith Tippett

Keith Tippett was an English jazz pianist, composer and bandleader born in Bristol in 1947 who began his career in the 1960s and worked across jazz, avant-garde and progressive music contexts. His music combined improvisation, extended harmonic language and large-ensemble arrangements, evolving from modal and free-jazz approaches into ensemble projects and cross-genre collaborations that contributed to the development of British jazz and experimental music.
