Carlos Salzedo

Carlos Salzedo was a French-born harpist, composer and teacher who began his career in Paris in the early 20th century and later established a professional presence in the United States, working primarily in classical and solo harp repertoire. He developed new harp techniques and pedagogical methods, championed contemporary compositions and expanded the instrument's repertoire and expressive possibilities, thereby shaping harp performance practice and teaching throughout the 20th century.
