Tony Bevan is a British saxophonist and improviser who emerged from the London free-jazz and improvised-music scene in the late 1970s and 1980s, working primarily within avant-garde and free jazz contexts. His playing is characterised by a raw, incisive tone, frequent use of extended techniques and a focus on interplay and collective improvisation, and he has contributed to the UK improvised-music community through a range of collaborations and ensemble projects.
