Edward Vesala

Edward Vesala was a Finnish avant-garde jazz drummer and composer who began his career in the 1960s, working in Finland and across Europe and leading ensembles that ranged from small groups to larger orchestral projects. His work blended free-jazz improvisation with elements of folk, chamber music and contemporary composition, evolving into textural, large-scale arrangements that contributed to the development of European avant-garde jazz.
