Vincent Persichetti

Vincent Persichetti was an American composer, pianist and teacher born in Philadelphia in 1915 who began his professional career in the mid-20th century within the classical music tradition. He combined tonal and serial techniques across orchestral, chamber, choral and solo works, produced a substantial body of music for wind band, and served as a conservatoire teacher influencing composition pedagogy in mid-century America.
