Don Lanphere was an American jazz saxophonist from Spokane, Washington, who began his professional career in the late 1940s and became associated with the bebop and post-bop scenes. Over several decades he played tenor and soprano saxophone in both small-combo and larger ensemble settings, later returning to the Pacific Northwest where his style evolved toward modern jazz and he concentrated on teaching and local performance.
