Michael League is an American bassist, composer and bandleader who formed the instrumental collective Snarky Puppy while studying in Denton, Texas in the mid-2000s, working primarily within jazz, jazz fusion and funk. His work blends jazz improvisation with funk, R&B and world-music influences, and his career has expanded into arranging and producing large-ensemble projects and cross-genre collaborations that contribute to contemporary jazz and fusion practices.
