Wang Chung are an English new wave and synth-pop band formed in London in 1980, originally under the name Huang Chung before shortening it as they began recording and performing. Their music blends synthesiser-driven pop with dance and rock elements, evolving from the polished production typical of 1980s new wave into later recordings that incorporated mainstream pop and electronic influences while maintaining a strong emphasis on rhythm and melody.
