The Persuasions

The Persuasions are an American a cappella group from Brooklyn, New York, formed in the early 1960s and emerging from street-corner and gospel singing traditions. Their musical style blends gospel, doo-wop, soul and rhythm and blues into close four-part harmonies, and their repertoire includes a cappella reinterpretations of contemporary rock and pop songs that helped bring street-corner vocal traditions into wider recording and touring contexts.
