Benjamin Herman is a Dutch saxophonist from Amsterdam who began his career in the late 1980s and founded the ensemble New Cool Collective in the early 1990s, working primarily within jazz. His musical style combines elements of hard bop and contemporary jazz with funk, soul and Latin influences, and over his career he has expanded into arrangements that intersect with pop and film music, contributing to the development of the Netherlands' contemporary jazz scene.
