Armas Launis
Armas Launis was a Finnish composer and ethnomusicologist active from the early 20th century, known for his operas, choral works and his engagement with folk music. He combined a late-Romantic compositional language with melodies and themes drawn from Finnish and Sámi folk traditions, and his fieldwork in song collection informed both his stage works and his writings on ethnomusicology, contributing to the preservation and study of regional musical cultures.
