The Mitchell-Ruff Duo
The Mitchell-Ruff Duo were an American jazz duo formed in the early 1950s in the United States, specialising in piano-and-bass arrangements that bridged straight-ahead jazz and chamber-jazz approaches. Their music combined jazz improvisation with elements of classical chamber music, spirituals and popular song, and they frequently performed in concert halls, educational programmes and international outreach tours that presented jazz in non-traditional venues.
