Paul Méfano

Paul Méfano was a French composer and conductor, born in Basra in 1937, who began his career in the 1960s and worked primarily in contemporary classical and electroacoustic music. Throughout his career he explored timbre, extended instrumental techniques and electronics, founded and directed ensembles and institutions to commission and perform new music, and contributed to the development and dissemination of contemporary music in France.
