Ray Anderson

Ray Anderson is an American jazz trombonist from Chicago who began his professional career in the 1970s and is associated with modern, avant-garde and free jazz. Known for his use of extended techniques, wide tonal range and the incorporation of funk, blues and big-band elements, he has combined improvised solos with composition and work in both small groups and larger ensembles, contributing to the expansion of trombone vocabulary within contemporary jazz.
