Jeph Jerman is an American experimental musician who began releasing home-recorded cassette and CD-R works in the late 1980s and early 1990s, working primarily within underground noise, ambient and experimental electronic contexts. His work is characterised by tape manipulation, found sounds, field recordings and improvised use of everyday objects, and over time he has moved between abrasive noise textures and quieter, more textural ambient pieces that reflect the DIY cassette-culture ethos.
