Liam Payne (born 29 August 1993 in Wolverhampton, West Midlands) is an English singer-songwriter who first gained public attention as a member of the boy band One Direction, formed on the British television series The X Factor in 2010. Since beginning a solo career in 2016, he has released pop- and R&B-influenced singles such as "Strip That Down" and "Familiar" and has worked as a songwriter and recording collaborator across pop, R&B and dance genres.
