Three Keyboard Concertos
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & András Schiff & English Chamber Orchestra & George Malcolm
Three Keyboard Concertos is a set of keyboard concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed around 1738–1741. Rooted in the Baroque concerto tradition, they feature a solo keyboard—typically harpsichord—in dialogue with a string ensemble, employing ritornello structures, dense contrapuntal writing and virtuosic solo passages that reflect Bach's late Leipzig output and his engagement with Italian concerto forms.
