Transcendental Etudes

Album by Franz Liszt & Sandro Russo

Transcendental Études is a set of twelve piano études by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, published in 1852. They exemplify Romantic-era virtuosic piano writing, characterised by extreme technical demands, rapid passagework, wide leaps and dense textures, and they represent a culmination of Liszt's engagement with piano technique and expressive possibilities in his middle period.
