Symphony No. 3 in D minor is the third symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1896. The sprawling late-Romantic work is cast in six movements and features vast orchestration including vocal elements, exploring nature-inspired and existential themes and representing a key stage in Mahler's development toward large-scale, programme-oriented symphonic writing.
