Symphony No. 1

Album by Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev & Eugene Ormandy

Symphony No. 1 is the first symphony by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, completed in 1917. The work is neoclassical in style, drawing on classical-era forms with transparent textures, brisk tempos and bright orchestration, and it represents an early statement in Prokofiev's career in which he synthesised modern harmonic language with classical models.
