Spatial music emerged in the late 20th century when a few experimental types thought, 'Why should sound be confined to just one speaker?' This genre uses technology to create immersive environments, as if you’ve stepped into a sound bubble where melodies float around like wayward pigeons in Trafalgar Square. Often a blend of electronic and acoustic elements, it can make you feel like you're in a concert hall or a particularly ambitious art installation, depending on how many fancy speakers the artist has used.
