Psychobilly

Psychobilly emerged in the late 1970s in the UK, where someone thought combining rockabilly's swing with punk’s aggressive attitude was a great notion, probably over a pint. It’s characterised by slapping double bass, frenzied guitar riffs, and lyrics that make one wonder if the writers have a penchant for horror films and bad puns. Fans often seem to enjoy dancing like they’ve just been zapped by a toaster, which might also explain the genre's gaining traction at bizarre festivals across Europe.
