Psych Folk

Psych Folk emerged in the late 1960s, particularly in Britain and the US, when musicians had a sudden urge to blend traditional folk sounds with psychedelic experimentation, probably whilst wearing tie-dye shirts and sipping herbal tea. It often features dreamy melodies, intricate harmonies, and the occasional unexpected flute solo, resulting in something that sounds like an old English nursery rhyme took a rather groovy detour. Its cultural impact is notable, as it helped sparks a movement that led to modern indie folk, ensuring that every acoustic guitar-playing hipster can lay claim to a bit of hippy heritage.
