Progressive House

Progressive House emerged in the early 1990s, primarily from the UK and the burgeoning rave scene, proving that house music could be sophisticated and still ensure people forgot their own names by 2 AM. It’s characterised by lengthy build-ups, lush melodies, and a rather cheeky tendency to draw you into its groove before revealing the drop, much like a magician who makes you wait way too long for the trick. The genre has since shaped numerous festivals and playlists, with fans steadfastly debating which track gave them their first euphoric moment on the dance floor, usually with a pint in hand.
