Latin Rap
Latin Rap emerged in the late 1980s, primarily in the barrios of New York City, where artists decided that spitting rhymes in Spanish was a brilliant way to combine rhythm with cultural pride. It sounds like a tapestry of hip hop beats layered with vibrant Latin melodies; a bit like salsa at a street party, but with a side of swagger and some very serious wordplay. The genre has since exploded in popularity, proving that when it comes to good music, the more languages you can throw in the mix, the better the party gets.
