Hands Up originated in the late 1990s, primarily from Germany, and is essentially a neon-coloured lovechild of Eurodance and happy hardcore, perfect for those who wish to bounce around like they’ve just downed too many energy drinks. Characterised by catchy melodies, thumping beats, and lyrics about, well, having a good time, it’s the musical equivalent of a sugar rush at a disco.
