Female Fronted Metal

Female Fronted Metal sprang to life in the early 1990s, primarily in Europe, as a response to the rather tedious notion that only men could possess both a powerful voice and a penchant for headbanging. Characterised by a dazzling mix of operatic vocals, shredding guitar riffs, and rhythms that could wake the dead, it sounds like a battle between a choir and a thunderstorm. It has since amassed a dedicated following, proving that having a bit of glitter can indeed go hand in hand with heavy riffs and a sprinkling of rebellion.
