Darkstep

Darkstep emerged in the late 1990s as a rather ominous offshoot of drum and bass, where the basslines are so deep they could probably cause seismic activity. Characterised by dark, brooding atmospheres and rapid-fire beats, it’s like being chased through a haunted forest by a particularly aggressive drum machine. Fans appreciate it for its ability to create an exhilarating sense of tension; just be careful not to fall over whilst headbanging in the dark.
