Christian Pop
Christian Pop emerged in the 1980s, when it became apparent that you could have uplifting lyrics and catchy melodies without necessarily being a hymnal bore. It's essentially a campfire singalong, but with more synthesiser and less rain-sodden dampness, as artists deftly balance messages of faith with radio-friendly hooks. This genre has gained a substantial following, proving that the faithful can indeed groove whilst keeping it all above board.
