Asian Underground
Asian Underground sprang up in the 1990s, mainly in the UK, as a merry mix of traditional South Asian sounds and modern Western music, proving that curry and techno do indeed go together. It’s a joyous racket of dance beats, dub, and cheeky samples, often making you feel like you're at a wedding party but with much better DJ skills. This genre not only gave a fresh twist to the Asian diaspora's musical identity but also made everyone rethink what constitutes a good rave; if it comes with bhangra, it's a win-win.
