Alan Jay Lerner
Alan Jay Lerner was an American lyricist and librettist from New York City who began his career in the 1940s writing for Broadway and Hollywood musicals, primarily working within the musical theatre genre. His lyrics and libretti combined urbane wit with narrative-driven structure, emphasising the integration of song and story across stage and screen and contributing to mid-20th-century American musical theatre.
