Eugene Goossens

Eugene Goossens was an English conductor and composer born in Liverpool who began his career in the early 20th century, working primarily in the classical repertoire and in orchestral leadership. His musical approach blended late-Romantic orchestral textures with modernist influences, and across a career that included leadership of several major orchestras he promoted contemporary composers and helped broaden orchestral programming in 20th-century classical music.
