Cécile Chaminade

Cécile Chaminade was a French composer and pianist who began her career in the late 19th century, writing salon pieces, songs and piano works. Her music blends lyrical melody and late-Romantic piano idioms, extending into orchestral and chamber works such as the Concertino for Flute, and she was part of the salon and concert culture of fin-de-siècle France.
