Gabriel Dupont

Gabriel Dupont was a French composer born in Caen in 1878 who studied at the Paris Conservatoire and worked in the classical tradition from the late 19th century until his death in 1914. His output, including mélodies, piano pieces and stage works, blends late-Romantic lyricism with Impressionist colours and reflects the musical and cultural currents of the Belle Époque, though his career was curtailed by ill health.
