Francesco Durante was an Italian Baroque composer from the Kingdom of Naples, born in Frattamaggiore and active in Naples during the early 18th century. He specialised in sacred music and vocal composition, combining contrapuntal clarity with expressive melodic writing, and his teaching at Neapolitan conservatories contributed to the development of the Neapolitan school.
