Sonia Wieder‐Atherton

Sonia Wieder-Atherton is a French cellist born in San Francisco in 1961 who began her professional career in the 1980s, specialising in classical and contemporary music. Her work blends traditional cello repertoire with contemporary composition, improvisation and cross-cultural collaborations across theatre, film and experimental projects, reflecting a sustained engagement with expanded performance practices.
