Clarice Assad

Clarice Assad is a Brazilian-American composer, pianist and vocalist born in Rio de Janeiro who established a career in both Brazil and the United States working across classical, jazz and Brazilian popular music. Her work blends Brazilian rhythms and melodic language with contemporary classical techniques and jazz improvisation, encompassing compositions for orchestra and chamber ensembles as well as arrangements and vocal performance that connect Latin American and North American musical traditions.
