Giovanni Battista Viotti
Giovanni Battista Viotti was an Italian violinist and composer born in 1755 who began his career in the late 18th century, becoming active in Paris and London and working primarily in the Classical genre. His compositions emphasised elegant violin technique and melodic clarity, contributed to the development of the violin concerto and reflected the cultural exchanges between Italian, French and British musical circles.
