David Del Tredici

David Del Tredici is an American composer born in 1937 who emerged in the 1960s and is associated with neo‑Romantic and postmodern classical music. After an early engagement with serial techniques he moved towards a tonal, neo‑Romantic idiom notable for exuberant orchestration and large-scale song-cycles inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice writings, contributing to a late-20th-century re-engagement with tonality in American art music.
