Rolf Kühn
Rolf Kühn was a German jazz clarinettist, born in Cologne in 1929, who began his professional career in the late 1940s and became active on both the European and international jazz scenes. His playing traversed swing, bebop and more modern jazz idioms, and he also doubled on saxophone while undertaking extensive studio, radio and live work that helped connect post‑war German jazz with wider transatlantic developments.
